Biography

Barbary was born in 1810. She passed away after 1870.

Apparently Thomas and Elizabeth Ward had two daughters named Barbara/Barbary - Barbara was born circa 1803 and married a man named Lewis Tiner/Tyner. The second daughter Barbary was born in circa 1810 and was first married to Leander Brower and secondly to Francis Hite. Both daughters followed their parents to Tennessee and are found living next to them in several different census records both are found in two separate census records for 1870 but then not after.

1870 Census Dublin, Graves, Kentucky, United States- Barbary Hite living with her daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Hayden Bailey.

1870 Census District 17, Madison, Tennessee, United States- Barbary Tiner (B. Tiner) living with her son James H. Tiner and family.

They were probably named for their maternal grandmother mother Barbary/Barbara Amick Pugh (Elizabeth Pugh Ward’s mother).
