Biography

Ezekiel Ward was born circa 1744 and was residing in Dobbs county, North Carolina at the time of the American Revolutionary War. Dobbs County was formed in 1758 from Johnston County, though the legislative act that created it did not become effective until April 10, 1759. Ezekiel is found on two Dobbs county Tax lists, which indicated that he provided Indian Corn to pay his taxes, in 1780. Ezekiel is honored for his Patriotic Service to the newly formed United States by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. DAR records indicate that he died before 1790, in North Carolina (probably Dobbs county). [1]
