Biography

In 1954, Barbara Noel Anne Ward was on the Electoral Roll at 3 Wellesley Street, Hobart South, Tasmania, as a Typist, with her father Charles Alan, a Civil Servant, her mother Mona Gladys, doing Home Duties, brother Albert Charles, a draftsman, and sisters Cathleen Mary, an Assistant, and Margaret Cynthia, a physiotherapist.

In 1958, Barbara and her parents were still at 3 Wellesley Street, with Margaret Cynthia, and her sister Monica Patricia, a Nurse.

"In 1962, Brian married Barbara Ward with whom he had six children: Bede, Gemma, Mary, Richard, David and Ann"^[1].

"He had only been a senator for five years when Barbara tragically passed away in 1980" (op.cit.).
