Janet lived with her parents and two siblings in Oxford St Giles, Oxfordshire, England and in Witley, Surrey, England.

Like her mother, she was a British writer and social activist.

She married the historian George Macaulay Trevelyan (son of Sir George Otto Trevelyan, 2nd Bt. and Caroline Philips) on 19 March 1904.

They had two sons and a daughter.

She was awarded Companion of Honour (C.H.) in 1936.

She passed away in 1956 at the age of 76.^[2]
