Obituary

Essie Ree Ware Landrum, 89, of the Landrum community, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005 at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, at Goodhope Baptist Church in Jones County, with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Cliff Jenkins and Tim Taylor will officiate.

Born June 1, 1916, in Magee, she was a private attendant and a member of Goodhope Baptist Church in Jones County. She was a devoted mother to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Porter Landrum Sr.; parents, Willie and Timmie [Tinnie] Womack Ware; and two sons, Paul Kenneth Landrum and Johnnie P. Landrum Jr.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Howard "Moose" and Zella Landrum and Raymond and Opal Landrum, all of the Landrum Community; two daughters-in-law, Etoil Landrum of the Landrum community and Christine Landrum of Bryan, Texas; a brother; Carey Ware of Pearl; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Landrum, Matt Saucier, Steve Riley, Redd Butler, Terry Landrum, Mark Butler, Shawn Walters and Larry Sumrall. The body will be placed in the church at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. today, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel, which is in charge of arrangements.[3]

LANDRUM COMMUNITY - Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Goodhope Baptist Church for Essie Ree Landrum, 89, of the Landrum community, who died Oct. 19, 2005, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.

Burial will be in Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery in Jones County.

Mrs. Landrum was a retired private attendant and a member of Goodhope Baptist Church.[4]
