Mrs. M. C. Green, wife of Rev. J. M. Green, who has lived many years in our town and vicinity, died at the home of her son, J. S. Rowe, near Waurika on 22nd inst. Her death was not unexpected as she had been confined to her bed with rheumatic paralysis for eighteen months, yet it has added grief to the already heartbroken husband and children.

I certify that the within name Wm T Rowe a private of Captain S E Melson Company F of the 41 regiment of Miss was born in Jefferson Co in the state of Ala, aged 23 years, five feet and 10 inched high, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and by profession a farmer was enlisted by S E Melson at Pontotoc Miss on the 10th day of February 1862 to serve for 12 months and was killed in the fight of Perryvill the 8th day of October 1862. The said Wm T Rowe was last paid by A T ?Master Jas Kinannon to include the 30th day of April 1862 and has pay due from that time to the 8th of October 1862. There is due to him ?retainet pay $57.93. Commutation for clothing to 8th of October 1862 $33.05. Stoppage in clothing to 8th of October ?receind $14. Given in duplicate at Shelbyvill Tenn this the 31 day of January 1863.

Personally appears before me B M Elbzey, clerk of the Probate Court of said county, Mary Rowe who being duly sworn says that she is the widow of Wm T Rowe deceased, who enlisted in the 10th day of February 1862, as a private in Capt S E Melson Company, 41st Regiment Miss Volunteers Infantry, and was killed at the Battle of Perryville in the 8 day of October 1862; and that she as the widow is entitled under the law to receive any an wages of pay ?brunty as commutation for clothing that may be due the said deceased by the Confederate States for his services as a private as aforesaid. Also personally appeared Elishu Rowe who being duly sworn says that the fact as sworn to by Mary Rowe are true as stated.
Sworn to and subscribed before me as witness my hand and the seal of said Court hero affixed February 20th 1863.
