He preceded her in death in 1998. On June 3, 1967, she married Harold W. Bissett in Colon. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2007. Lola had lived in Colon the past 44 years. She was a homemaker and had worked at the former Transagram Co. in Sturgis and had also sold Tri-Chem Paints from her home. She was a former member of the Colon Rebecca's. She is survived by five children, Katha (Duane) Beardsley, Susan (Rex) Flowers, Gayle (Ivan) Moyer, Darrel (Myra) Knight, and Michael (Angela) Bissett; 17 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Inman and Vera Carter; a special aunt, Donna Coffinger; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson; and a great-grandson. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Lola L. Bissett will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Mr. David J. Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at South Colon Cemetery in Colon. If desired, the family suggests memorials be made to the family.
