Biography

Charles Fredric "Fred" Ware (Ware-1989) was born in 1916 in Kansas City, Missouri. A year later his family had moved to Meade, Kansas. From there, the family moved to the Charles David Coe (Coe-1922) farm near Lindale, Smith County, Texas. Fred attended school in Lindale until his family made the decision to seek work in the oilfields of Oklahoma. Fred moved to Kansas City to attend and graduate from, Wyandotte High School, in Kansas City, Missouri. He played violin in the high school orchestra. He resided with Archie Coe (Coe-2011) , wife Pearl and daughter, Dorothy, during this year, and drove a cab at night. After graduation Fred made another move, to Los Angeles, California, where he attended UCLA to study engineering. Unfortunately , economics prompted him to make another change. This time to follow his father's lead and seek his fortune in the oilfields. During this time of following employment opportunities, he met the love of his life. Hazel Ingram (Ingram-2349) was working in the City Cafe in Henrietta, Texas, which was owned by her father (Ingram-2127). Fred and Hazel married June 19, 1937 in Healdton, Oklahoma. The children of this marriage are Emma Ruth Ware Williams Spaulding (Ware-1987) and William Charles Ware (Ware-1992). Fred and Hazel moved to the Charles Coe (Coe-1922) farm, where he farmed, hunted, and fished; not for recreation, but to put food on the table; and served as caretakers for Charles Coe (1922). They remained on the farm after Charles Coe's death until his father (Ware-1990) and mother (Coe-1921) retired and were ready to take over the farm. The next phase of Fred and Hazel's life began with a move to West Texas where Fred was again employed in the oil fields. He was employed as a pumper, first by Argo Oil Co. in the Sprayberry Field, then by ARCO in Odessa, Texas. He next saw an opportunity to become a contract pumper working primarily for EPS Corp, and continued in this capacity until his death on 20 September 1971. Fred and Hazel lived through the difficult times of the depression and WW II as well as America's economic recovery. They were both possessed of the admirable trait of being happy wherever they were,
