Biography

George William Ware was born 7 Sep 1838 in Orange County Indiana. He was the son of James Ware and Mary Busick. Sometime between 1841 and 1844, his family moved from Orange County, Indiana to Lick Creek Township, Davis County, Iowa. It was there that he met and married Sarah Jane Echard on 19 Jan 1860. They had 6 children, Luella Mae born 24 Jul 1862, Mary E. born abt 1864, Eva Catherine born 10 Mar 1867, Wilmer born abt 1870, Blanche Josie born 8 Oct 1876 and James C. born 27 Aug 1879. George fought in the Civil War for the Iowa 15th Infantry Company D from 1 Sep 1862 to 18 May 1863. He passed away on 24 Jun 1912 and is buried in the Dunnville Cemetery north of Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa.
