Biography

Rhoda, daughter of George Ware/Waers/Wire/etc., was born in 1753 per her grave memorial.[1] Her place of birth is unclear.

Between Dec. 10, 1761, and Jan. 3, 1762, she was baptized in Hopkinton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, with her brother Archibald and sister Rebecca, children of "George Waers".[2]

"Rhoda Wires" married in Hopkinton 29 Jun 1775 George Clarke "Regular" per the church records. The intention to marry, issued 5 June 1755, were to George Clarke and “Rhoda Ware."[3] [A regular is a full time soldier.]

She married in 1778 Hamblet Barber [There is no record of this marriage in the Hopkinton, Holliston or Bellingham vital records.] Per Hamblet's profile "In 1778 he married the eldest Ware daughter, Rhoda Ware (Clarke), who was then a young widow with an infant daughter."

From the children's birth records, etc., it appears they lived in Milford, Hopkinton, Holliston and Bellingham.

Rhoda, "wife of Hamblet Barber," died Dec 25 1824 in nearby Bellingham, Norfolk County, per both the Bellingham and Hollston records,[4][5] but she is mention on a large family memorial stone in South Cemetery in Holliston.[1]

Hamblet died in Holliston, Middlesex County, in 1834.[6]

Ware-901 and Ware-4443 do not represent the same person because: Profile has note that explains that they are not the same person. This is confirmed by the Ware genealogy https://archive.org/stream/waregenealogyrob00ware#page/88/mode/2up/search/Mills .

She was the daughter of George Ware/Waers/Wire.

Thank you. Should the husband Hamlet Barber be removed from https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ware-4443 ? What else is wrong with https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ware-4443  ? It is orphaned profile....

The only thing wrong with Ware-4443 is the birth info. Once that’s changed she can be merged with Ware-901.
OK, so this Rhoda married Clark and Barber and the daughter of Ebenezer didn't marry either one?

Ugh. Looking thru your sources, I see the memorial stone has b. 1753! Ebenezer's Rhoda was b. 1759 [Needham MA], d. 1777 [age 18] so still not his daughter. So, did Hamblet m. another Rhoda! The profile had both marriages when I took over, but couldn't prove the second m. so put 'said to have." I descend from Eben so this not my line.
FYI, i put in Ebenezer's Rhoda here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ware-4450
