During the American Revolution, John was appointed Ensign in Captain John Ware's Company of militia 18 Aug 1777. He was promoted to the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.[1]
On 22 Sep 1786, he married Elizabeth Miller, at Prince Edward County, Virginia.[4][5]

Susan "Susannah" Miller, b. 1805, m. David Perkins[1]
The 1810 Census lists James as a head of household at Goochland, Goochland County, Virgina.[6]
James Ware passed away before 14 Jul 1818 in Goochland County, Virginia.[1]
