Biography

George Warfield was born on 14 March 1792 at Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA. His father was Charles Warfield, born around 1775 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. His mother was most-likely Sarah "Sally" Warfield, his father's cousin, who married Charles on July 10, 1790 in Anne Arundel County. The family descended from Capt. Richard Warfield Sr., born in London, England, on August 27, 1646, who emigrated to the colony of Maryland around the time that Charles II was restored to the English throne, and who died on February 11, 1703, in Millersville, Anne Arundel, Maryland. George's grandfather, Lt. Lancelot Warfield, fought for Maryland in the American Revolution.

George Warfield married Ellen Schekels in Baltimore County, Maryland, on May 11, 1825. They lived in the city of Baltimore all of their lives. In 1850 he stated he was a "Cabinet Maker". His sons William & George Jr. were a "Brick-Layer" and a "Carpenter". His son-in-law, Elbridge C. Chickering was also a Cabinet Maker in Baltimore.

George Warfield passed away in Baltimore, Maryland, in March 1864 during the US Civil War and was laid to rest next to his late wife, Ellen (Sheckels) Warfield in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Their gravestones are lost or illegible.
