- Note from Minnie Roberts, daughter of Malvina, said : Malvina's parents arrived from England in the 1850's one side was french. My current research disagrees with this - I do agree though that the last name of Wauford does sound french.
- She can be found under the last names of Wauford, Wofford, Woford

Biography
The early years
Malvina M.S.W. Melissa Wauford/Warford was born the 22nd of December 1853[1]in Smithville, DeKalb, Tennessee to Benjamin Warford and Sarah Frances "Salie" Crook.[2]

Family life
On the 21st of July 1873 Malvina would marry James Henry Roberts in DeKalb County, Tennesse. The registration book reading
77 - James H Roberts to Malvina M S W Warford. Marriage License issued July 21, 1873. [4]

Throughout the years
In 1860 they were in District 11, De Kalb, Tennessee. [3] their nearest post Office was Alexandria. IN the home were Benjamin 56, Sarah 37, William 13, Mary 12, Delia 10, Malvina 6, Emily 4, David 1. Sarah Crook was likely a 2nd wife of Benjamin with the age difference.
In 1870 [2] she was living in District 11, DeKalb, Tennesee with her family. Her father had no real estate, but a personal estate of about $1,000. I the home were Benjamin 67, Sarah 46, Delia 19, Malvinga 16, Emily 14, Tilman 12, Benjamin 10, Cinthia 7 and a Mary Chapman age 21 living with them, likely her sister.
In 1880[5] they are living next door to Matlock and Zilpha - the census got Malvina's name wrong and wrote her as Jospehina - In the home are James 23, Malvina 25, Mallie 6, Charlie 4 and Thursday J 2.
In 1900[6] they are living in Rockhouse, Perry, Tennessee, In the home are James Henry 48, Malvina 45, Joseph 19, Gertrude 17, Jennie 15, Henry 14, Della 12, Lula 9, Minnie 8, Frank 6, Zilpha 4 and Mandy Joseph's wife 19. It had been 4 months since James had been employed. and they were living in a house.
Death
Malvina died at the Patterville Hospital of Pneumonia[1] on the 1st of December 1928 in Paris, Lamar County, Texas[1]. [7] and on 2 DEC 1928 she was laid to rest in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas.
Her obituary read as:

Mrs. Jim Roberts, 75 years old, died at 10:30 Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. E. Anderson, who lives two miles south of Shady Grove, after a week's illness. Death was due to pneumonia. The funeral was held at W. E. Anderson's home at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon and interment made at the Shady Grove Cemetery. Her daughter, Mrs. W. E. Anderson, with whom she had made her home for the past 16 years survives her.
She also leaves five other daughters, Mrs. E. A. Roberts of Artesia, N. M., Mrs. J. J. Williams of Howe, Okla., Mrs. J. E. Allen of Lake Creek, Mrs. B. Rodgers of Wynnewood, Ok., Mrs. W. M. Roberts of Oklahoma City and one son, J. H. Roberts of Fort Worth. All of her children were present when she died except Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Williams. She leaves 25 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Roberts was well known as a devoted mother and was always looked upon as a friend to the poor and needy. She was born December 22, 1852 (sic) in DeCalb county, Tenn. She was married to Mr. Roberts at the age of 20 years, and to them were born 12 children. She joined the Christian church thirty-five years ago.
