Biography

John was born in 1739.

"99 JOHN4 WARNER, JR., son of John3 and Mercy (Curtis) Warner, born in New Milford, Conn., October 27, 1739; died there March 11, 1800, buried in Gallows Hill Cemetery. He inherited the homestead farm of his father in New Milford. He and his wife owned the covenant at the church there in July, 1765, and she was baptized at that time. His will, made March 14, 1799, was probated March 22, 1800, mentions his wife Eunice, son John, Jr., daughters Annice Stevens, Lucina Keeler, Anne Bostwick, Hannah Stevens, and Lois Bostwick. Annice was to receive a larger share than the other daughters "on account of her long continuance in my service." His son John was executor and Elizur Warner and Reuben Warner, Jr., were witnesses. The inventory shows a long list of furniture and clothing valued at about £125, and real estate valued at £475. (New Milford probate records, vol. 3, p. 474.) The family is listed in the Census of 1790 in New Milford.

"Married (1) in New Milford, July 6, 1763, HANNAH WESTOVER, born 1739, died in New Milford, January 10, 1775, in her 36th year, buried in Gallows Hill Cemetery.

"Married (2) May 20, 1778, EUNICE WALLER of New Milford, who died May 5, 1799, in her 62d year, buried in Gallows Hill Cemetery.

190 Annice Warner, b. Nov., 1766 ; m. Aden Stevens.

192 Hannah Warner, b. 1770; m. Nathan Stevens.
193 Lois Warner, m. Esbon Bostwick."[1]
