Louisa was born in 1866 at 32 Gaol Street, Great Yarmouth. Her father is not recorded on her birth certificate. In her memoirs, her granddaughter Rita Perrott recorded family rumours that Louisa was the illegitimate child of a ‘posh man’ for whom her mother Mary Ann Warnes worked. However on Louisa’s marriage certificate her father is indicated as Robert Warnes. Rita goes on to say, ‘she was a hard hearted woman, no cuddles from her!’
However the 1911 census record shows Herbert and Louisa had 11 children of whom 6 survived but 5 died which was tragic but symptomatic of life at the time. The profile manager recalls Peggy Gooch, her daughter (Winifred), talking very fondly about her twin brother Reginald who died from Scarlet Fever in 1909 aged 4.
She passed away in 1935 aged 68 years at 32 Rose Valley in Norwich. Her son Frederick Gladstone Gooch was the informant.

Rita (Robinson) Perrott made photo notes, Louisa was her grandmother.
Thought to be an outing to Great Yarmouth, where Louisa was born.
The Gooch’s were flooded out of Barker Street in the Norwich floods of 1912 and moved to 32 Rose Valley, off Unthank Road, Norwich (see photo below), which became the family home until her death in 1935.
