Lillian Warren was born of William Warren (b. 1801 in Hertford County, NC) [1] and Martha[2] Parker (b. 1836 in Hertford County) on a farm in Hertford, NC on April 24, 1875[2]. She had brothers, James Larry and Kenneth, who were both farmers[3], [4] and at least one sister.
She married Charles Leonard Williamson of Portsmouth, VA on October 7, 1896. How they met is unknown but Charles' father was a cabinet maker in Petersburg as was his sister's husband, James Reid who likely worked in NC. His sister, Mary married James in Weldon NC in 1857. Lillian and Charles lived briefly at 507 First Street in Portsmouth with Charles’ father, Charles Lemuel, and then built their home at 422 Cossack Street in Norfolk County. The street name would later change to Gosport Road then Naval Place and was incorporated into the City of Portsmouth.
Three sons were born[5]
Lillian died of influenza on March 4, 1920[2] at the age of 44 [4]. By this time the Great Flu Epidemic of 1918 had passed, but this virulent strain was still prevalent. She was buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth, VA.
NOTE; William Warren and Martha Parker were married in Northampton Co. on June 3, 1856.[6] This county borders Hertford Co N.C. Lillian had brothers J.L. and Kenneth.7 See Hertford Co. censuses below.
Lillian Warren lived in Murfreesburo, NC and was presumably born there. She was sister to James Larry Warren who lived in Murfreesburo and had descendents who were close to Charles Leonard and Lloyd Glend Williamson’s family.
Between about 1950 and 1970, Miss Francis E. Parker of Rosemead, CA conducted research in the Parkers of North Carolina by soliciting using mail to the families of the small town of Murfreesboro and surrounding areas. An impressive compilation that includes Silas Parker (1769) and his grandfather Thomas. Particularly noteworthy since the research was done on the Pacific coast before the age of the Internet and digital communications. Her sons, Lloyd and Elvin, Portsmouth are annotated[7]
