Biography

Father Benedict Warren

On January 6 1928 between 4am and 5am the Fitch home caught fire, possibly due to the pressure build up in a stove. Amanda is thought to have been asleep when the fire broke out. The fire was seen by a neighbor who entered the home in an attempt to help Amanda. She was found passed out next to her bed having sustained burned and a gash on her head. Another man, Mr. Smith, also perished in the fire. He was hired to assist with the Fitch farm.

Amanda lived in Foster Brook Valley for 30 years and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
