Biography

Timothy Warren was born March 11, 1799 in Washington County, New York to Ebenezer and Ann (Rice) Warren.[1][2]

Timothy married Eliza Bradley December 26, 1822, in Macomb County, Michigan.

Timothy purchased land in Macomb County, Michigan from the U.S. government August 18, 1837 via land patent. It was described as the "East 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of section 12, Township 3 North, Range 12 East." This property is located today at the Northwest corner of Hayes Road, and 24 Mile Road.[3] The 1840 U.S. Census indicates that he was living inSterling Township, Macomb County, Michigan, which is not on the land purchased by Land Patent[4].

Son of Ebenezer Warren and Anne Rice (aka Royce).

Timothy Leonard Warren was the eldest of 12 children of Ebenezer Warren and Anne Rice or Royce, who settled in Covington, Genesee Co. (now Wyoming Co.), NY. He was born 11 Mar 1799 in New York and married Eliza BRADLEY, daughter of Joy Meiggs BRADLEY and Sally HOWE. Timothy and Eliza had these children: Emeline, b abt 1824 Washington Co., NY, m William P. LOVEJOY; Charity, b abt 1833 NY, m Philo HUTTON (Civil War soldier, Co. H, 7th Michigan Infantry); Ebenezer, b abt 1837 MI; and son Joy (minister and Civil War soldier, Co. I, 9th Michigan Infantry), m Laura Prentiss HOWE. Timothy bought land in Macomb Co. on 18 Aug 1837. His daughter Charity WARREN and Philo M. HUTTON were married by Elam CHAPIN, Justice of the Peace. Timothy died in 1862 in Shelby, Macomb Co., MI. His widow Eliza later married Hugh NORTON.
