Warren family researchers give his date of death as 27 November 1865 in Big Horn, Sheridan County, Wyoming. They also indicate he is buried in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Big Horn.
In 1865, this area was the Dakota Territory, which was organized in 1861. Wyoming Territory was organized in 1868.
Mount Hope Cemetery was established in 1885.
