Disputed Origins: Mary's maiden surname is unproven. Some say it is Early and others Warren; we have seen no proof either way. However, this Mary could not be the daughter of Thomas Warren and Mary Hackley. In 1749 Thomas wrote his will, leaving a legacy to his daughter, Mary Buford.[citation needed] This could not be Mary Buford, wife of Thomas Buford (died 1716), because she died in 1720. Mary Warren, daughter of Thomas and Mary Warren, certainly married a Buford, but not this one (Thomas).
She died 29 December 1720 in Middlesex Co, Virginia,[1] and is buried at Christ Church Cemetery, Christchurch, Middlesex County, Virginia.[2]
