Biography

Anna Wilcox (Warren) Prentiss was born 4 Dec 1800 in Acworth, Sullivan County, New Hampshire, United States, to Moses Warren (1760-1851) and Priscilla Nurse (1764-1842). Anna died 24 Oct 1886 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. She married Samuel Morrison Prentiss (1801-1879) 26 Oct 1820 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. Her husband was the son of of James Prentiss (1755-1829) who had changed his name from James Hogg and his wife Janet Morrison (1729-1799). Samuel Prentiss became a Methodist minister and later a Free Baptist minister and preached in Ohio and Michigan.

Anna and Samuel had 13 children together. According to his Funeral Service, ten of their children were living when the funeral took place 12 Dec 1879, and three had passed away. The three who had passed away before their father were Mary, Martha, and Lucy. They are not in any records but are named in several ancestry.com family trees. Some ancestry.com family trees say that Lucy died in 1846 but give no records to support that death years or her.
