Jane Warren was born about 1738 in Bertie, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Robert Warren and Hannah Randolph. Mason recorded her place of birth as Halifax, North Carolina, however, Halifax was not established as a county until almost twenty years later in 1757. Older counties are Edgecombe and Bertie, for instance.
