Biography

Jane Warren was born about 1738 in Bertie, North Carolina. She was the daughter of Robert Warren and Hannah Randolph. Mason recorded her place of birth as Halifax, North Carolina, however, Halifax was not established as a county until almost twenty years later in 1757. Older counties are Edgecombe and Bertie, for instance.

Jane married twice:

1. William Ferguson about 1761. Together they had 1 child:
   1. Sara Jane Ferguson born about 1763, the year before her father died.
2. Joseph Borden in 1765. Together they had 4 children:
   1. Mary "Polly" Borden
   2. Rebecca Randolph Borden
   3. Dr. Levi Borden^[1]
   4. Benjamin John Joseph Borden

Jane passed away about 1803 in Iredell, North Carolina.
