Gideon was born in 1704. His parents were James Washburn (1672 - 1749) and Mary Bowden Washburn (1669 - 1747). He was the youngest of five siblings:

  3. James Washburn (1698 - 1741)
  4. Moses Washburn (1702 - 1765)
  5. Gideon Washburn (1704 - 1794)*

Gideon married Mary D Perkins Washburn (1702 - 1760). These are their known children:

From History of Leicester by Washburn 415: "Gideon, was cousin to Joseph, 1st; b. in Bridgewater, 1704; m. Mary Perkins of Bridgewater, and had four sons, and, with two of them (Abraham and Jacob), removed to Leicester, and settled in the north part of the town. He died 1794, aged ninety-one; never having had a physician in his life. The children of Abram, son of Gideon, were James, Eliab, Luke. He lived in the north part of the town."

From Mitchell's History of Bridgewater: "Gideon (son of James 10) married Mary (daughter of David Perkins, perhaps) and had Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Gideon, Luke. He, Abraham, and Jacob, went to Paxton+. This family lived where Dr. Sanger lived. — Abraham had James, and Eliab, who m. Molly Lazell 1777, and Luke, who m. Desire Packard 1763."
