Amos Washer was born in 1832. He was the son of Abraham Washer and Catherine Littell. Amos was the proprietor of Washer's Foundry at Nay Aug avenue and Green Ridge street.[1] He passed away in 1907, at age 75. His death certificate lists his occupation as land agent.

"Amos Washer Obituary," From The Scranton Truth, 20 Dec 1907:[3]
"Amos Washer, a well known and highly esteemed resident of the borough, died at his home on Shoemaker avenue last evening at the age of 75 years. He is survived by his wife and three sons, Archbald, Edward and Eugene. He was a member of Company E. R. G. of Pa., and was an active member of the G. A. R., under whose charge the funeral will be on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Washer was well known throughout the valley, having held responsible positions under the Pennsylvania Coal company for years."
