Biography

Gipson Washington is a part of US Black heritage.

George Gipson Washington was born in 1879. He was one year old living in the home of his parents, Pat and Iris Washington when the 1880 US Census was taken. The family was enumerated in Sandy Ridge, Lowndes, Alabama.^[1] He died in 1938.^[2]

When he registered for the draft for WWI in Lowndes County, Alabama, he listed his wife, Eula as the person who would always know his whereabouts. He listed his occupation as farmer.^[3]
