Biography

His Parents are Richard Washington (II), was married first, to Hannah ___? ca. 1715, Surry County, Virginia. and married 2nd, to Patience Moore or Murfree, mentioned in deeds of 1719-1726.

William's siblings:

  1. Richard Washington (III) b. c.1716, d. 1769, Hertord Co., N.C. It is thought that he was the father of William Washington, who founded the family in Laurens, S.C.
  2. John Washington, b. ca.1718, living in 1764, Died by 1790, perhaps before. Married in Southampton County, Virginia, Thamer Hickman. Lived for a while in Bertie Co. North Carolina, but by 1762 he and wife were again in Southampton County, Virginia.
  3. Him b. ca.1720, died Oct. 1799, Hancock Co., Georgia. He married ca.1749, in Virginia, Tabitha Rives who died bef. 1777, Granville County, North Carolina.
