" Another of the Best " for WICKEPIN. -These notes have to chronicle the departure (says the "Daily News ") on Monday last of yet another worker in the
Boy Scout cause. A.S.M. Waterhouse, of Troop 29 (Cottesloe). - Mr. Waterhouse, who has been engaged in the taxation office for the past five years, leaves to enter into business at Wickepin. "Frank," as he is affectionately known by the lads of his troop' when they are " off duty," is an example of what is best in the "true and real" Scout officer. He joined the move ment at its inception, and thoroughly understands, appreciates, and teaches the deeper import of its lessons. To his care and kindly interest the present high position of Troop 29 is greatly indebted.
I am assured by many of " those who know" that the existence of the troop, small as it is in numbers, has been a great power for good in the seaside suburb. Would that there were many more troops of the same calibre ! The members of the Council, 'Scouts of Troop 29, and all " real" Scouts will join in wishing Mr. Waterhouse a very successful business career. He will still continue to be a " Scout," and help to enhance the usefulness of the movement, and thanks to the good training markedly exhibited in the troop his place there will be taken by the senior P.L. In addition to his " active " work Mr. Waterhouse has been the hon. treasurer to the local association, and his accounts have been well and systematically kept. This paper welcomes Mr. Waterhouse (who is entering the employ of Mr. W. Hessen) to Wickepin.
