Biography

Elizabeth was the daughter of John Waterhouse of Halifax and his wife Agnes Rishworth. She is shown in the family pedigree in Foster's Yorkshire Pedigrees, which states that she married "Christopher Both of Both" (Booth).^[1]

Christopher died in 1553 and Elizabeth was an executor of his will, proved on 15 December 1553, together with their son Edward Booth.^[2] Also mentioned is eldest son George Booth, and "my childer" - the will implies further children, as there seems to be an ongoing dispute with George: "Item yt ys the full and laste will of me the said Chrofer. Boithes that all dettes and all other matters and causes betwixt me and my childer and betwixt George Boithes, myne eldest sonne, be clerelie after my deceese determyned, judged, and fullie endid within xx dayes next after my deceese by the meditacon of my lovinge frendes" (named). Robert Waterhouse, probably Elizabeth's brother Robert, was a witness.

Elizabeth died in 1557 and was buried at Halifax on 19 May 1557.^[3]

Originally an unsourced unconnected orphan profile. The ancestry source is a broken link but there are over 2000 trees with the 1518 birth date mostly showing her as the daughter of John Waterhouse and Agnes Rishworth, so taken those as the intended parents.
