Biography
John was born in 1847.
He worked as an Assistant Engineer in 1861, probably with his father who was a Civil Engineer, John was only 14 at the time.[1]
He married Sarah Hederson about May 1870 in Haltwhistle, Northumberland.[2]
In 1881 he and his family were living in Warden Place, Long Benton Village, Longbenton, Tynemouth, Northumberland. He was working as a Highway Surveyor.[3]
In 1891 and 1901 his occupation was listed as Civil Engineer Highway Surveyor.[4][5]
By 1911 he was a District Surveyor for Newcastle Council, the family still lived in Warden Place. Living with the family was Frances Davidson, age 52 and single a visitor born in New York, USA, but now living in Britain and a British subject.[6]
John died about August 1931 in Newcastle on Tyne.[7][8]
