DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
A Libby Larkin family tree prepared by Anna McKinney Holly Carty (McKinney-6840) provides an alternative identity for Mary Hubbs, the mother of John Mapevanisto Waters, and wife of James Waters (Waters-3446). It proposes that Maria Hubbs (1800-1859) was the child of Solomon Hubbs and Sylvia Larkin, sister of Jerusha Larkin (Larkin-1294). The family history recounts that Sylvia & Jerusha were both daughters of Libby/Sibby Larkin. The story of Solomon's origins can be found (or heard) in the 2018 Television Academy interview, with Long Island born actress Ellen Holly. In it she talked about her early life, and her paternal family tree going back to 1700s and her 4th great grandparents Solomon and Sylvia.
