Horace was born in 1895. He passed away in 1981.
Horace's birth was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1895 in the Poplar district.[1].Horace, son of Edward William Waters & Maud Mary Waters, was born 24 October and baptised privately on 22 November 1895 in St Mary, Stratford Bow, Tower Hamlets, England. His father Edward was a coffin frilling manufacturer. The family were living at 1 Rounton Road.[2].
In the 1901 census Horace (age 5) was the son of Edward Wm Waters in Bromley, London, England.[3]
In the 1911 census Horace (age 15), a schoolboy, was living with his parents and five siblings at 1 Rounton Road, Bromley By Bow E, Poplar, London, England. His cousin Frederick Arthur Best was also in the household[4].
Horace was registered to vote in 1921 at 1 Rounton Road, Poplar, Tower Hamlets, England. Also registered at that address were his parents Edward and Maud, and brothers Edward and Charles[5]
Horace (age 38), child of Edward William Waters, married Muriel Winifred Peters (age 34) on 23 November 1933 in Saint Mark, Regent's Park: Prince Albert Road, Camden, England. Both were single. Horace gave his occupation as Motor Engineer and his address as 16 Albert Road, Regents Park. His father Edward William Waters was deceased. Muriel was a company secretary living at 155 Finchley Road, Swiss Cottage. Her father Robert Peters gave his rank as Independent. One of the two witnesses was E Arthur Waters. The other witnesses signature is difficult to make out[6]
In the 1939 register Horace (age 43), was living with his wife Muriel in Flat 1. Greencroft Gardens, Hampstead, London, England. He gave his occupation as Entertainer. Muriel was engaged in unpaid domestic duties[7].
He portrayed Charles Bushell in the 1958 film, "Carve Her Name with Pride".
Horace died on 24 May 1981 in Kingsgate Broadstairs Kent and his estate passed probate on 7 October 1981 in London.[8]
