Biography

William Sternin Watkins was born on December 29, 1776 in Franklin County, Kentucky, son of Absalom Watkins (~1750–1831).[1]

William (19) married Elizabeth Baker (13) (born on August 29, 1783) on September 8, 1796 in Franklin, Kentucky, United States. [2]Their children were:

In the 1820 census Willmon was in Assumption, Louisiana, United States.[6]

William was a Majaor in the 6th Regiment of Landry's Louisiana Militia in the War of 1812 in the United States.[7] William became the first Senior Justice of the Peace. According to his daughter America's obituary, he was one of the earliest settlers of Lafourche.

William died on May 2, 1830 in Houma, Terrebonne, Louisiana, United States, aged 53. He was buried in Saint Francis de Sales Cemetery #1, Houma, Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.[1]
