Emiline Florence Watkins was born on 23 Aug 1877 in Breathitt, Kentucky, United States, daughter of Lewis Watkins (1840 - 1918) and Mary Ann (Salyer) Watkins (1851 - 1915).

Her parents lived in the Spring Fork area of Breathitt County, which borders Magoffin County where her parents had lived. In 1880, she is living with her parents and many siblings.[1]

Then she married John Linville Mann (~18) (born in Stevenson, Breathitt on 20 Mar 1877; died in Mount Sterling, Montgomery, Kentucky on 9 Jan 1963), son of Adam Mann and Polly Ann Howard, in 1895 in Montgomery[3]

In the 1900 census Emily (age 23) was the wife of John L Mann in Magisterial District 7 Springfork, Breathitt, Kentucky.[4]
