Homer was the child of Lewis Watkins and Ethel Downs. Homer Earl WATKINS was born on 28 Jun 1907 in Battle Ground, Tippecanoe Co., IN 8 and died on 11 Jul 2001 in Delphi, Carroll Co., IN. Homer married Faye MULLENDORE on 3 Feb 1934 in Tippecanoe Co., IN. Faye MULLENDORE was born on 8 Jan 1914 and died on 30 Apr 1998 in Delphi, Carroll Co., IN.)[1]

Homer Watkins, 94, of Delphi, died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2001, at Milner Health Care in Rossville.

He was born on June 28, 1907, in Battle Ground to Lewis and Ethel J. Downs Watkins. He was married in Tippecanoe County on Feb. 3, 1934, to Faye Mullendore. She died on April 30, 1998.

He retired from John Deere in Flora in 1972.

He is survived by three sons,

  1. Larry Watkins of Schaghticoke, N.Y.,
  2. Everett Watkins of Globe, Ariz., and
  3. Dale Watkins of Florida;
three sisters,
  1. Marie Mourning of Lafayette Watkins-4103
  2. Minnie Spurgeon, of Lafayette, and [Watkins- Watkins-4107
  3. Myrtle Garrison of Watseka, Ill.; Watkins-4108
three brothers,
  1. Henry Watkins of Mobile, Ala., Watkins-4100
  2. Norwood Watkins of Dickinson, Texas, Watkins-4101
  3. Joseph Watkins of Lafayette; Watkins-4106
11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

A brother Watkins-4099, three sisters Watkins-4098, Watkins-4102, Watkins-4104 and a grandson are deceased.

No visitation is scheduled. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pretty Prairie Cemetery, Battle Ground, with the Rev. Alvin Grumbling officiating.

Burial will be in the Pretty Prairie Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity. [2]
