Biography

Nellie Louise Watkins was born 4 October 1881 in Key West, Florida to John David Watkins and Caroline Amanda Saunders Watkins.

She married Charles Wesley Saunders, son of William Uriah Saunders and his second wife, Sophia Sarah Lowe Saunders, 9 February 1899, in Key West, Florida. The couple had children Annie Lois Saunders and Charles Mortimer Saunders.

Charles was a retail grocer and sales manager at Tumley's Wholesale.

After Charles' death in 1927, Nellie and Annie Saunders moved to Tampa, Florida and resided with Mortimer Saunders and his family.

Nellie Louise passed away in 1934 in Tampa, Florida at 52 years of age. She was buried in the Key West City Cemetery with her husband.
