Bertha Watson was born in August 1878 in Little Valley, Cattaraugus, New York, to James Watson and Mary Wareham. [1]
In 1892, Bertha lived with her parents and five of her 12 siblings in Little Valley. [2]
Bertha continued to reside with her family in Little Valley in 1900, but was also recorded in the census as a servant in the home of William and Ida Hildreth in Little Valley. [3][4]
Bertha married Augustus Shields on October 28, 1901 in Salamanca, Cattaraugus, New York. [5]
Bertha died on August 8, 1909 and was buried in Little Valley Rural Cemetery, Little Valley, New York. [6][7]
