Award-winning English actress best known for playing 'Hermione Granger' in the Harry Potter series of films
Daughter of two English lawyers, Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris, France, on 15 Apr 1990. The family lived in France until she was five, when her parents separated and Emma and her mother moved to Oxfordshire, England. Watson decided she wanted to become an actress from the age of six, but her first acting role was in the Harry Potter series of films, where she played Harry's friend, Hermione Granger.
'Hermione' is portrayed as being extremely bright, both in her lessons and in her spellwork. Fans of Hermione will be pleased to know that Watson is similarly bright, having achieved eight A* and two A grades in her GCSE examinations. She then proceeded to gain A grades in all three of her A levels. Watson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, [1] taking five years to complete the degree (instead of four) because of her acting work.
