A large congregation attended the Presbyterian Church on Wednesday last to witness the marriage ceremony which united Miss. Lucy Cox to Mr. A. T. Watson. The Rev. D. McLennan officiated, and conveyed the beautiful service most impressively to his hearers. The bride reached the church shortly after 11 o'clock, and was conducted up the aisle by her father. Her dress, of cream cashmere, trimmed with china silk, was well-fitting and elegant. Misses M. J. Watson and Kate Cox were the bridesmaids, the former lady being attired in white muslin, and the latter in cashmere, trimmed with green plush. Miss N. Williams played Mendelssohn's "Wedding March, and the happy couple received showers of rice, and many congratulations before they reached the carriage. A long string of vehicles, crowded with cheerful people sped their way along the dusty main road, and soon arrived at Mr. Cox's farm, where the company numbering between 40 and 50, were received for the breakfast. A most generous and hospitable repast awaited them, after enjoyment of which several toasts were proposed and duly honoured. Mr. H. M. Osborne took the chair, and the Rev. D. McLennon proposed the toast of "The Bride and Bridegown," congratulating them on the step taken, and wishing them happiness and prosperity. The rev. gentleman said it was the first wedding celebrated at the Kangaroo Valley Presbyterian Church ; he was surprised by the sea of young faces at the pleasant gathering which took place recently in the National Hall, and he should like to see a wedding take place at least once a week. A ball was held in the evening, at which a very large number attended.
