Elihu was known to have married four times. (See research notes) One of his marriages was to Annie Glynn (East) Watson (1819-1913), whom he married on 30 Jan 1849.[2] "Annie" may have been his last wife. She died in 1913.[1]
Four of his children were Adolphus Calhoun Watson (1853-1936), Emma Laurens East Watson Oxner, Mallie C. (Watson) Martin (1853-1936), and Mary Drucilla Watson Whitley[2]; however biological mothers have yet to be substantiated here. He died after a long life of 87 years, on June 15, 1881, in his hometown in Laurens, South Carolin and was buried at the Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery in in Joanna, Laurens, South Carolina.[2]
The obituary of his son, Adolphus C Watson, said that he actuality had married four times and was the father of 10 daughters and 14 sons; most of which died in infancy.[1] (Note that only 3 of a possible 24 children have had profiles linked to this bio.)
