Biography

Elizabeth Christina Watson, was born in 1833, the daughter of Samuel Watson and Elizabeth Wells. [1] She was baptised at Holy Trinity, Botleys and Lyne, Surrey on 17 November that year. [2] [3]

In 1851, Elizabeth, now known by her second forename, Christine, aged 17, and her six siblings, John, Mary, Emily, Sophia, Ellen and George, were staying with their aunt, Mary (Wells) Chatburn.[4][5]

By the time of the 1881 Census, Elizabeth (aged 47 years) was a School Teacher. She was living at 3, School, Tunbridge, Kent. Her sisters, Mary Letitia Watson (46) and Ellen Frances Watson (41) were with her and working as Readers. Elizabeth's niece, Emily Marianne Watson (17), known as Marian, was visting.[6]

Elizabeth later moved to Burton Court, Eardisland, Hereford and then back to Kent, to 3 Argyll Road, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.[7]

Elizabeth passed away at home at 3 Argyll Road on 26th March 1884, aged 50 years. She was buried at Southborough, St Peter, Kent on 31 March that year. Her will was proved by her brother, John Christian Watson (1832-1912).[8][7][9]
