Biography

Emily Marianne Watson, the daughter of John Watson and Sarah Rebecca (Armstrong) Watson, was born in Fulham, Middlesex on 6 February 1864.^{[1][2] [3] [4]}

Her mother died in 1870.

At the time of the 1871 Census Emily was at Rosendale Road, Lambeth, Surrey with her father; two Aunts, Emily Eliza Watson (1837-1911) and Sophia Marianne Watson (1837-1919); siblings John Christian Wells Watson (1859-1932), Herbert Armstrong Watson (1860-1937) and Alice Mary Watson (abt.1861-1938); and two servants, Emily Cann and Esther Nicholls.^[5]

At the time of the 1881 Census, Emily (aged 17 years), was visiting her aunt, Elizabeth Christina Watson at 3, School, Tunbridge, Kent (where her aunt was a school teacher). Two of her other aunts were also there, Mary Letitia Watson and Ellen Frances Watson. Emily was known by her second forename, Marianne (spelt Marian here, probably in error).^[6]

Emily passed away on 26 May 1910, aged 46 years.^[7][8]
