Johnson was born about 1756.[1] His will was composed on 19 April 1801 in Bedford County and he died there before 27 July when the will was proved.[2]
Below are earliest known ancestors of Y-DNA testers on Family Tree DNA who most closely match with William's descendants, but who remain untraced to him and each other:
Per a descendant of William and a descendant of Robert Watson taking Big-Y700 tests, a scientific estimation for a recent common ancestor's birth year (between the two testers, within R-FTE35011) comes back at around 1696 which roughly aligns with the birth of either Robert Watson or his father (possibly George Watson), indicating a close relationship between these matches.[3] This estimation can be improved over time if other male descendants and relatives take further Big-Y tests.
