Stephen was born January 5, 1921 in Fishs Eddy, a small hamlet in the town of Hancock, Delaware County, New York.[1]
He was engaged to Georgiana Beismer.
Stephen served as a Staff Sergeant & Gunner on B-24, 408th Bomber Squadron, 22nd Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force.[2]
He, his crew and plane were declared missing during World War II.[3][4]
Declared Missing in Action, October 14, 1944, non-recoverable. [2]
Declared dead, March 21, 1946.[3] [5] His memorial in the Manila American Cemetery, Phillipines[6]
Steve was awarded the United States Air Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters and the Purple Heart. [5]
