It is said that Mary's parents were Robert Watson & Mary Coates. It is unclear what year Mary was born. There has been no record of a birth certificate to date.
She married James Woods on the 1st of April 1844 at Second Presbyterian Church, Killinchy, County Down, Ireland. This record can be found on the Family Search Ireland Marriages 1619-1898 record. James & Mary's marriage is on page 443 of 553.
On the 2nd of August 1858, the "Indiana" set sail from Gravesend, England. James, Mary & children (Elizabeth, Samuel, James, Robert, Hugh, John, Matthew & Esther) emigrated on this sailing. James and Mary had 14 kids in total; Esther was 3 months old when travelling on the Indiana to New Zealand. The remaining children (Francis, William, Thomas, Mary, Joseph & Andrew) were born in New Zealand. The Indiana arrived in Lyttelton Harbour on the 23rd of November 1858.
The passenger list from the Indiana in the year 1858 states Mary was 31 years old when sailing - meaning she was born in 1827. But, Mary's death notice states "Woods - On April 13th, at Christchurch, Mary, the beloved wife of Mr James Woods, of Doyleston. Aged fifty-six years. This suggests she was born in 1824, which is more likely to be correct.
As mentioned, Mary passed away from heart failure on the 13th of April, 1880. Mary is buried in the Addington Cemetery, Christchurch.

Mary Woods (Watson-16797) was married in 1844 (good evidence for this date). If she was also aged 20 in 1851, that suggests marriage at around 13 years old, which seems unlikely. Being 20 in 1851 is also inconsistent with being born in 1822 (though it is not clear what is the evidence for 1822).
James married his wife Mary (nee Watson, Watson-6109) in 1844, at which time Woods-2663 was only 13-14 years old, whereas Mary Watson-6109 would have been about 22 years old. I propose that James Woods-2613 should no longer be listed as the husband of Mary Woods-2663
