Her mother, Elizabeth FROST-WATSON, well, that is not good, check out the profile for Elizabeth Frost-Gray
"She, that would be Elizabeth Frost, "married first 24 June 1634 to John WATSON at St. Peter's Church, Nottingham, apparently as second wife (see Lechford's Note-Book p. 199). They had at least three children.
ANSWER: Our Alice Watson was born 1624, which makes Elizabeth 10 years old when Alice was born???????????????
There are numerous familysearch TREES that name John Watson and Elizabeth Frost as Alice's parents, however I have found a U.S. INTL PASSENGER LIST, 1500-1900 that has
John Watson birth abt 1600 ARRIVAL 1624 Virginia.
And on the other hand we have proof that this
"Alice Watson was born 1629 in England,
if George Truitt paid for her passage."
Which means, her mother and father came over in 1624 before she was born then I guess John/Elizabeth went back to England before 1629 and had Alice and then they came back to America again.?????
I will research this further to make sure of her parents:
JOHN WATSON and ELIZABETH FROST.
This Alice clearly cannot be the daughter of Elizabeth Frost-Gray and that link has been removed.
There are assertions made here that she was born either in 1624 or in 1629 - neither date appears to have any source associated (findagrave in this context does not count as a source).
If she was the daughter of John Watson (evidence??) then she may have been the daughter of his first wife, Ann Sorsbee, but only if the 1629 birth year is correct.
If the 1624 date is right, then she may still be daughter of John Watson, but it would have to be from another, as yet undiscovered, earlier spouse.
In either case, no corresponding baptism has been found in Nottinghamshire
The date given for her birth (baptism) of 19 Sep 1624 may hold a clue. One tree on ancestry [1] points out that this date alludes to the baptism of an Alice Watson on 19 Sep 1634 in Elton, Huntingdonshire, d/o John Watson. This may well be the original source of this confusion, multiple copies of an original typo propagated via ancestry trees.
Nothing has been found yet to support the assumption that Alice Watson who was brought over by George Truitt to Virginia has anything whatsoever to do with John Watson of Nottinghamshire who appears to have emigrated to Connecticut. The John Watson that may be her uncle, brother or cousin had land transactions with George Truitt in Northampton, Virginia.
Research Notes from 2017
Who was Alice Watson Truitt's Father?
Posted 09 Oct 2017 by gresham970
The widely held belief is that her parents are John Watson and Elizabeth Frost Watson. Just cannot be true.
They were married in 1634 and there is a marriage citation from England documenting it. The citation says John Watson nuptae Elizabeth Frost, no confusion there, but Alice would have to have been born after 1634 and her birth date is closer to 1622-1629.
John Watson and wife Elizabeth immigrated to Conn. in 1635, the year after they married.. The Frost Genealogy states that Elizabeth Frost married John Watson FROM BOSTON, MASS. John and Elizabeth were here long before Alice immigrated.
Alice Watson was living with George in 1652 according to Northampton Court and Order book. There is another record for 1654 when she was sponsored by her father or uncle or brother named John Watson and someone named John Bognell. The immigration record in 1655 is the date of George Truitt's land patent. ALL RECORDS SAY "TO VIRGINIA".
Alice married George Truitt in Virginia abt 1652/3. Alice's father or brother or uncle MAY BE THE JOHN WATSON WHO IMMIGRATED TO NORTHAMPTON, VIRGINIA and died in Northampton, VIRGINIA.. Her mother's name may not even be Elizabeth. That may have come from the mix up of the two John Watson's.
John Watson of Northampton, Virginia immigrated early and had a connection with George Truitt in land deed transactions. He might just be Alice's uncle, not father.
If you look at Elizabeth Frost's baptismal date of 1614 in England and then Alice Watson's estimated birth date between 1622-1629, it just makes Elizabeth too young to be her mother.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Alice by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Alice:
I agree that this Elizabeth FROST can NOT be Alice's biological mother, as she was 10 years old when our Alice was born. So I think we need to unlink Alice from this mother.
Watson-17647 and Watson-83 appear to represent the same person because: They are one/same. Please let me know if I can help you merge them or add me to the trusted list. Thank you for your work
I have been looking at English christening records. I've found a few different John Watsons with daughters named Alice from around the same time. Does anyone have any idea how to decide which it is? I do not think that John & Elizabeth (Frost) Watson are the correct parents. John Watson immigrated to New England, dying in Connecticut before 1640, and the "daughter" came to Virginia in abt 1655. The locations on the records I've looked at lead me to suspect there's (at least) two individuals conflated here. I am, however, confident that all three of these Alice Truitt/Watson profiles represent the same person.
Looks like Watson-83 will be our TARGET profile for all merges (lowest numbered profile with the correct spelling of the name at birth), but I have not done a thorough search yet, so just be aware.

There are probably 2 (or more) duplicates waiting. Will need some appropriate citations (for pre-1700 profiles) in order to make an informed decision. If I can help in any way, please let me know.
I'm trying to find info on Alice Watson's mother. So many trees say it's Elizabeth Frost. I would like to find a source that confirms or denies. Thank you very much
Mary

Same name and same marriage. So little information, please add citations, so an informed decision can be made. Thanks!
