James Watson was born in England.
James Watson was born about 1787 in Middlesex, England.[1][2] The names of his parents are unknown. He was a cordwainer by trade, which is a shoemaker that makes shoes from new leather, as opposed to a cobbler that makes shoes from pieces of old shoes and leather goods.


James Watson married Ann Copperthite on 28 Oct 1817 at All Saints Church in Wandsworth, Surrey, England.[3] She was the daughter of John Copperthite and Rosanna Clifford.[4]


James Watson died on Christmas Day in 1843 at the age of 61 years old at the Chelsea Union Workhouse.[1][5] He was buried on 29 Dec 1843 at the parish church of Chelsea St. Luke.[6]
