Biography

William was born in 1765 in Pennsylvania, the son of Arthur Watts and Sarah Folwell.

He married Elizabeth Taylor at the Southampton Baptist Church in Bucks County on 12 April 1787.[1]

He died in 1838 and was buried at the graveyard at the Southampton Baptist Meeting House.[2]

The will of William Watts of Doylestown is dated 13 March 1837 and was proved 7 May 1838. It names:

  • wife Elizabeth
  • niece Sarah Shelmire (unsure if living) or her surviving daughters
  • Arthur Yerkes, his wife Elizabeth decd., and their daughters Sarah Michener, Rebecca Kreusen, and Elizabeth Yerkes (relationship not stated)
  • daughters of William Miles and Rebecca his wife decd., to wit Ann Barnes and Elizabeth Miles (relationship not stated)
  • niece Amy Davis wife of John Davis
  • three sons Aaron, Moses, and Josiah (named co-executors)
