Biography

Jesse Watts was an Assisted Immigrant to New South Wales.

Jesse Watts was born on 30 July 1839 in Hawkhurst, Kent, England, the son of William Watts and Sophia Buss and brother of Mary (Buss) Vidler [half], Jane (Watts) Bovis, Ann (Watts) Badans, Matilda (Watts) Grace, Edward Watts, John Watts, Elizabeth (Watts) Walford, Hannah (Watts) Watt, Henry Watts and Daniel Watts.

He married Sarah Ann Steadman on 23 March 1861 in Jamberoo, New South Wales, Australia^[1], and their children were Jesse Steadman 1860–1861, Josiah George Watts (1862–1940), Esther Ann Watts (1864–1917), Clara E Watts (1867–1870), George Rufus Watts (1870–Dec), Blanche Edith Watts (1872–Dec), Lucy E Watts (1875–Dec), Herbert Barnes Watts (1877–Dec), John Horace H Watts (1878–Dec) and Sarah Watts (1878–1878). Sarah died on 9 August 1878.

Jesse then married Sarah Ann (Barnes) Watts on 29 April 1879 in Jamberoo, New South Wales, Australia^[2], and their daughter was Viola Florence Ethel Watts (1883–1969).

Jesse died on 2 November 1922 at Berry, New South Wales, Australia^[3]and was buried at the Nowra Methodist Cementery, New South Wales, Australia^[4].
