article was reporting on the burning down of a barn owned by Mrs. Ora Sharpe Morrison of Loray ... (Note: pay site)
In those old days it was the home of Rachel Davidson Watts, great-great-grandmother of Mrs. Morrison and of Mrs. H. V. Furches of Statesville. Mrs. Watts spent her latter days in the house with her daughter, Tabitha Watts Morrison. Later it became the home of Emmeline Gibson, grandmother of Mrs. Morrison and Mrs. Furches, and still later of Jane Gibson and A. Clayton Sharpe. All of the older children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sharpe were born in the house, Mrs. Furches and Mrs. Ora Morrison among them.
