Biography

Elmira was born in 1847. She is the daughter of William Waugh and Martha Brown. In 1850, the family was living in Pocahontas County, Virginia.[1] The household included:

By 1860, the family had moved to Illinois. William was still farming. There was a James B Waugh and wife Miriam Waugh living next to them. This was possibly William's daughter Miriam and her husband James B Foster, mistakenly identified as Waugh.[2] The household included:
